Is the image quality the same as a fixed hospital PET/CT site?

Yes. LDX's mobile units use the same FDA-cleared PET/CT scanner platforms deployed in fixed hospital settings. Image quality, spatial resolution, and diagnostic accuracy are equivalent. All scans are read by board-certified nuclear medicine physicians.

What does setup and teardown look like for our staff?

Your staff involvement is minimal. LDX's technologist arrives 60–90 minutes before the first patient, handles all setup, runs the full scan session, and departs after cleanup. You provide a parking space, access to a standard electrical hookup, and a brief patient intake area. No dedicated staff are required from your practice during the scan day.

How quickly can we get our first deployment scheduled?

Most practices are on-site within 2–3 weeks of signing an agreement. Scheduling depends on radiopharmaceutical availability, your preferred days, and our regional deployment calendar.

What is PSMA PET/CT and why does it matter for urology practices?

Accepted Answer

PSMA PET/CT uses a radiotracer that binds to prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein highly expressed on prostate cancer cells. It is the standard of care for prostate cancer staging and biochemical recurrence detection, and it is required to qualify patients for Pluvicto (Lu-177 PSMA) therapy. LDX uses Pylarify (F-18 piflufolastat), the FDA-approved PSMA tracer.

Do we need an NRC license or radiation safety officer?

No. LDX holds all required NRC and state radioactive materials licenses. Our technologist manages all radiopharmaceutical handling, dose preparation, and waste disposal in compliance with federal and state regulations. Your practice does not take on any radiation safety compliance obligations.

Who handles the technical billing?

LDX handles the technical component billing (the scanner and technologist). Your practice bills the professional read under your radiologist or nuclear medicine physician. We provide billing support and can walk your team through the reimbursement structure for each modality.

How many patients can be scanned in a single deployment day?

Accepted Answer

Throughput depends on the indication: urology PSMA PET typically accommodates 9 patients per day, FDG oncology PET accommodates 11, and cardiac PET (Rb-82) accommodates up to 14 due to the shorter scan protocol.
